Alcohol Doesn't Help, Dammit! Getting Sober with a Brain on Fire: A Survival Workbook

The book and accompanying workbook are still in development. Leave your email for release updates.

This is the accompanying survival workbook for Alcohol Doesn’t Help, Dammit!. Below, I share the book I’m writing and the experiences behind this workbook.

I’m writing this book because I wish someone had written it for me. It’s the story of what it’s really like to get sober when you have ADHD, when your brain is always revving at 500 km/h, when you can’t just “sit still and think about your choices,” and when the chaos feels louder than anything else in the room.

This isn’t a neat recovery story. It’s the blackouts. The one-night stands. The fights. The mornings I woke up in places I didn’t remember going. The way I partied every night just to feel something, anything. The spiral into depression so heavy it felt like drowning in wet cement.

But it’s also the way out.

In between the mess, you’ll find the tools I used (and still use) to survive and stay sober, the kind that actually work for people whose brains refuse to follow a straight line.

  • Journaling prompts that don’t feel like homework

  • Survival tricks for those “everything is too loud and I can’t breathe” days

  • How to set boundaries that don’t bend

  • Little actions that make a big difference when your executive function is on strike

I’m still in the middle of writing it, pulling each page straight from my own life, the good, the bad, and the “holy hell I can’t believe I’m telling you this.”

In development. This workbook is not available to buy or download yet. We’ll announce the release date and confirmed format when they are ready.

Until then, I want you to know you’re not broken, you’re not weak, and you’re definitely not alone.

Neurodazzled Blessings,

Natalie
